What is the The Homegrown Winter Making Market?

We run The Homegrown Market, a British-grown flower market that opens throughout the year at a variety of locations.

We invite local growers to bring buckets of their freshly cut flowers and foliages, so you can buy directly from the people who grow them.

Last year we held our first ‘Making Market’ and this year we’re returning with a larger event that includes a hands-on making element called ‘The Big Wreath Make’.

You can choose to simply ‘Gather’ all the materials you need, or opt to ‘Gather & Make’ by joining the Big Wreath Make, which will be situated in the heart of the market.

We are incorporating THE BIG WREATH MAKE at the CENTRE of the market. ‘We have been running our own wreath making for years but now I run the market I felt the two would work so wonderfully and create a unique market experience. So come to the market and MAKE and then you can shop or enjoy our Market Cafe’ Laura Fisher ~ Founder of The Homegrown Market & Wild Willow Flowers

We will running two wreath-making sessions: Morning 11:00–13:00 and Afternoon 14:00–16:00.

Arrive at the market and check in at the front desk. If you arrive early, enjoy the market or visit the Market Café.

Head to our cosy Wreath Making Area, the hall is fully heated so you won’t have chilly hands and find your space. Your Wreath Kit will be ready with everything needed to make a finished wreath for your door or for your Winter Table, just add a storm lantern

Three Sussex florists — Dove & Myrtle, Wild Willow Flowers, and Bay and Bell Flower — will demonstrate techniques, then you’ll make your own wreath for your door or winter table.

Wreath details: You’ll create a nature-inspired wreath on a moss base for longevity, measuring approx 14 inches when finished the perfect size for the majority of doors, using fragrant foliage, a touch of white, berries, and natural decorations. Finish with a ribbon chosen from a selection on the day. A short demo will show extra ideas from around the market if you want to add more ~ this will show you ideas on how to incorporate extra pieces, only if you choose too, add a hand dyed ribbon, a little dried flowers, a few extra seeds heads or enjoy a few fresh flowers and then replace as it gets nearer to Christmas

When finished, place your wreath in the provided box, then feel free to browse the market or relax in the Market Café.
